Commitment and Accountability

As an industry leader, MediaTek has worked to leverage its influence as part of its effort to encourage upstream and downstream enterprises to pay closer attention to the issues of environmental protection and introduce environmental awareness into production and quality management systems.

Environmental Milestones

Since 2003, MediaTek has begun the implementation of "Environmental Management Control Methods", and also released MediaTek's first "lead-free products" used in CD-ROM at the same year, taking "Green Concept" into product design considerations

Requirement to Suppliers

In 2008, MediaTek became the first in the industry to organize a supplier conference during which the implementation of the “MediaTek Environmentally Friendly, Energy Saving and Carbon Reducing Product Policy Plan" was announced. The plan served as a vehicle in which MediaTek's environmental policies and concepts were extended to its entire supply chain.

Be Innovative for Green

As part of its initial product design phase, MediaTek uses a Life-Cycle Thinking (LCT) management method in which environmental impact factors of a product's life cycle—from its initial production to the final disposal stage—are included in product design considerations. As well, MediaTek invests considerably in R&D in order to design innovative, energy saving technology, which is then included in design parameters.
